Cook Islands Country Code
For data processing and communications and Cook Islands and it's dependent areas is represent by a Cook Islands Country code. Cook Islands country code is a short numeric geographical code (geocodes) developed by the ISO 3166-1 system. Cook Islands country code is freqently refered to as Cook Islands dialing codes or Cook Islands E.164 calling code.
Cook Islands Country Code is used when dialing to Cook Islands from outside Cook Islands. Cook Islands Country Code is however not used when dialing within Cook Islands.
To call Cook Islands from outside Cook Islands, you have to dial the your own country's International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Cook Islands Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number as:
Your Countries International Direct Dialing Prefix (IDD) +682 (Cook Islands Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Cook Islands into Cook Islands, Dial '+' +682 (Cook Islands Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" can be reached by holding down the "0" key until it turns into a "+". The "+" is universal prefix for all international mobile telephone calls including Cook Islands)
Cook Islands International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Cook Islands to outside the country (Refer to international dialing Cook Islands code or Cook Islands international access code). Do not use Cook Islands IDD when dialing within Cook Islands.
Cook Islands National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD) is used when dialing to a destination within the Cook Islands (Refer to dialing Cook Islands code). Do not use Cook Islands National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Cook Islands into Cook Islands. Cook Islands NDD is only used as long distance dialing within the country.
