International Dialing Australia
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Australia. International Dialing Australia Code is also known as Australia International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Australia to outside Australia (sometimes also refers to as Australia international access code). Do not use Australia IDD code when dialing within Australia. By simply using the Australia Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Australia from within Australia. Without this international dialing Australia Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Australia because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Australia from within Australia, you have to dial International Dialing Australia Code or Australia International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Australia Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+61 (International Dialing Australia Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Australia from Australia, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Australia)
On the other hand, when dialing to Australia from outside Australia, a Australia Country Code is used. Australia Country Code however is not used when dialing within Australia.
The other type of code is Australia National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Australia (Refer to dialing Australia code). Australia NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Australia. Do not use Australia National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Australia into Australia.
