International Dialing Burundi
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Burundi. International Dialing Burundi Code is also known as Burundi International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Burundi to outside Burundi (sometimes also refers to as Burundi international access code). Do not use Burundi IDD code when dialing within Burundi. By simply using the Burundi Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Burundi from within Burundi. Without this international dialing Burundi Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Burundi because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Burundi from within Burundi, you have to dial International Dialing Burundi Code or Burundi International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Burundi Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+257 (International Dialing Burundi Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Burundi from Burundi, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Burundi)
On the other hand, when dialing to Burundi from outside Burundi, a Burundi Country Code is used. Burundi Country Code however is not used when dialing within Burundi.
The other type of code is Burundi National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Burundi (Refer to dialing Burundi code). Burundi NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Burundi. Do not use Burundi National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Burundi into Burundi.
