International Dialing Colombia
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Colombia. International Dialing Colombia Code is also known as Colombia International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Colombia to outside Colombia (sometimes also refers to as Colombia international access code). Do not use Colombia IDD code when dialing within Colombia. By simply using the Colombia Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Colombia from within Colombia. Without this international dialing Colombia Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Colombia because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Colombia from within Colombia, you have to dial International Dialing Colombia Code or Colombia International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Colombia Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+57 (International Dialing Colombia Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Colombia from Colombia, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Colombia)
On the other hand, when dialing to Colombia from outside Colombia, a Colombia Country Code is used. Colombia Country Code however is not used when dialing within Colombia.
The other type of code is Colombia National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Colombia (Refer to dialing Colombia code). Colombia NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Colombia. Do not use Colombia National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Colombia into Colombia.
