International Dialing Ghana
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Ghana. International Dialing Ghana Code is also known as Ghana International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Ghana to outside Ghana (sometimes also refers to as Ghana international access code). Do not use Ghana IDD code when dialing within Ghana. By simply using the Ghana Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Ghana from within Ghana. Without this international dialing Ghana Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Ghana because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Ghana from within Ghana, you have to dial International Dialing Ghana Code or Ghana International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Ghana Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+233 (International Dialing Ghana Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Ghana from Ghana, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Ghana)
On the other hand, when dialing to Ghana from outside Ghana, a Ghana Country Code is used. Ghana Country Code however is not used when dialing within Ghana.
The other type of code is Ghana National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Ghana (Refer to dialing Ghana code). Ghana NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Ghana. Do not use Ghana National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Ghana into Ghana.
