International Dialing Iceland
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Iceland. International Dialing Iceland Code is also known as Iceland International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Iceland to outside Iceland (sometimes also refers to as Iceland international access code). Do not use Iceland IDD code when dialing within Iceland. By simply using the Iceland Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Iceland from within Iceland. Without this international dialing Iceland Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Iceland because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Iceland from within Iceland, you have to dial International Dialing Iceland Code or Iceland International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Iceland Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+354 (International Dialing Iceland Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Iceland from Iceland, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Iceland)
On the other hand, when dialing to Iceland from outside Iceland, a Iceland Country Code is used. Iceland Country Code however is not used when dialing within Iceland.
The other type of code is Iceland National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Iceland (Refer to dialing Iceland code). Iceland NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Iceland. Do not use Iceland National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Iceland into Iceland.
