International Dialing Ireland
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Ireland. International Dialing Ireland Code is also known as Ireland International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Ireland to outside Ireland (sometimes also refers to as Ireland international access code). Do not use Ireland IDD code when dialing within Ireland. By simply using the Ireland Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Ireland from within Ireland. Without this international dialing Ireland Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Ireland because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Ireland from within Ireland, you have to dial International Dialing Ireland Code or Ireland International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Ireland Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+353 (International Dialing Ireland Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Ireland from Ireland, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Ireland)
On the other hand, when dialing to Ireland from outside Ireland, a Ireland Country Code is used. Ireland Country Code however is not used when dialing within Ireland.
The other type of code is Ireland National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Ireland (Refer to dialing Ireland code). Ireland NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Ireland. Do not use Ireland National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Ireland into Ireland.
