International Dialing Japan
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Japan. International Dialing Japan Code is also known as Japan International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Japan to outside Japan (sometimes also refers to as Japan international access code). Do not use Japan IDD code when dialing within Japan. By simply using the Japan Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Japan from within Japan. Without this international dialing Japan Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Japan because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Japan from within Japan, you have to dial International Dialing Japan Code or Japan International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Japan Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+81 (International Dialing Japan Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Japan from Japan, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Japan)
On the other hand, when dialing to Japan from outside Japan, a Japan Country Code is used. Japan Country Code however is not used when dialing within Japan.
The other type of code is Japan National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Japan (Refer to dialing Japan code). Japan NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Japan. Do not use Japan National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Japan into Japan.
