International Dialing Libya
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Libya. International Dialing Libya Code is also known as Libya International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Libya to outside Libya (sometimes also refers to as Libya international access code). Do not use Libya IDD code when dialing within Libya. By simply using the Libya Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Libya from within Libya. Without this international dialing Libya Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Libya because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Libya from within Libya, you have to dial International Dialing Libya Code or Libya International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Libya Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+218 (International Dialing Libya Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Libya from Libya, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Libya)
On the other hand, when dialing to Libya from outside Libya, a Libya Country Code is used. Libya Country Code however is not used when dialing within Libya.
The other type of code is Libya National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Libya (Refer to dialing Libya code). Libya NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Libya. Do not use Libya National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Libya into Libya.
