International Dialing Macao
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Macao. International Dialing Macao Code is also known as Macao International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Macao to outside Macao (sometimes also refers to as Macao international access code). Do not use Macao IDD code when dialing within Macao. By simply using the Macao Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Macao from within Macao. Without this international dialing Macao Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Macao because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Macao from within Macao, you have to dial International Dialing Macao Code or Macao International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Macao Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+853 (International Dialing Macao Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Macao from Macao, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Macao)
On the other hand, when dialing to Macao from outside Macao, a Macao Country Code is used. Macao Country Code however is not used when dialing within Macao.
The other type of code is Macao National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Macao (Refer to dialing Macao code). Macao NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Macao. Do not use Macao National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Macao into Macao.
