International Dialing Senegal
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Senegal. International Dialing Senegal Code is also known as Senegal International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Senegal to outside Senegal (sometimes also refers to as Senegal international access code). Do not use Senegal IDD code when dialing within Senegal. By simply using the Senegal Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Senegal from within Senegal. Without this international dialing Senegal Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Senegal because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Senegal from within Senegal, you have to dial International Dialing Senegal Code or Senegal International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Senegal Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+221 (International Dialing Senegal Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Senegal from Senegal, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Senegal)
On the other hand, when dialing to Senegal from outside Senegal, a Senegal Country Code is used. Senegal Country Code however is not used when dialing within Senegal.
The other type of code is Senegal National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Senegal (Refer to dialing Senegal code). Senegal NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Senegal. Do not use Senegal National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Senegal into Senegal.
