International Dialing Switzerland
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Switzerland. International Dialing Switzerland Code is also known as Switzerland International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Switzerland to outside Switzerland (sometimes also refers to as Switzerland international access code). Do not use Switzerland IDD code when dialing within Switzerland. By simply using the Switzerland Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Switzerland from within Switzerland. Without this international dialing Switzerland Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Switzerland because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Switzerland from within Switzerland, you have to dial International Dialing Switzerland Code or Switzerland International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Switzerland Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+41 (International Dialing Switzerland Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Switzerland from Switzerland, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Switzerland)
On the other hand, when dialing to Switzerland from outside Switzerland, a Switzerland Country Code is used. Switzerland Country Code however is not used when dialing within Switzerland.
The other type of code is Switzerland National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Switzerland (Refer to dialing Switzerland code). Switzerland NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Switzerland. Do not use Switzerland National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Switzerland into Switzerland.
