International Dialing Tokelau
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Tokelau. International Dialing Tokelau Code is also known as Tokelau International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Tokelau to outside Tokelau (sometimes also refers to as Tokelau international access code). Do not use Tokelau IDD code when dialing within Tokelau. By simply using the Tokelau Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Tokelau from within Tokelau. Without this international dialing Tokelau Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Tokelau because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Tokelau from within Tokelau, you have to dial International Dialing Tokelau Code or Tokelau International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Tokelau Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+690 (International Dialing Tokelau Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Tokelau from Tokelau, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Tokelau)
On the other hand, when dialing to Tokelau from outside Tokelau, a Tokelau Country Code is used. Tokelau Country Code however is not used when dialing within Tokelau.
The other type of code is Tokelau National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Tokelau (Refer to dialing Tokelau code). Tokelau NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Tokelau. Do not use Tokelau National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Tokelau into Tokelau.
