International Dialing Uganda
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Uganda. International Dialing Uganda Code is also known as Uganda International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Uganda to outside Uganda (sometimes also refers to as Uganda international access code). Do not use Uganda IDD code when dialing within Uganda. By simply using the Uganda Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Uganda from within Uganda. Without this international dialing Uganda Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Uganda because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Uganda from within Uganda, you have to dial International Dialing Uganda Code or Uganda International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Uganda Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+256 (International Dialing Uganda Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Uganda from Uganda, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Uganda)
On the other hand, when dialing to Uganda from outside Uganda, a Uganda Country Code is used. Uganda Country Code however is not used when dialing within Uganda.
The other type of code is Uganda National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Uganda (Refer to dialing Uganda code). Uganda NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Uganda. Do not use Uganda National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Uganda into Uganda.
