International Dialing Vanuatu
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Vanuatu. International Dialing Vanuatu Code is also known as Vanuatu International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Vanuatu to outside Vanuatu (sometimes also refers to as Vanuatu international access code). Do not use Vanuatu IDD code when dialing within Vanuatu. By simply using the Vanuatu Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Vanuatu from within Vanuatu. Without this international dialing Vanuatu Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Vanuatu because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Vanuatu from within Vanuatu, you have to dial International Dialing Vanuatu Code or Vanuatu International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Vanuatu Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+678 (International Dialing Vanuatu Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Vanuatu from Vanuatu, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Vanuatu)
On the other hand, when dialing to Vanuatu from outside Vanuatu, a Vanuatu Country Code is used. Vanuatu Country Code however is not used when dialing within Vanuatu.
The other type of code is Vanuatu National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Vanuatu (Refer to dialing Vanuatu code). Vanuatu NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Vanuatu. Do not use Vanuatu National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Vanuatu into Vanuatu.
