International Dialing Taiwan
This is the international dialing code used when dialing from Taiwan. International Dialing Taiwan Code is also known as Taiwan International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Taiwan to outside Taiwan (sometimes also refers to as Taiwan international access code). Do not use Taiwan IDD code when dialing within Taiwan. By simply using the Taiwan Dialing Code before the number, it unables you to place a call to outside Taiwan from within Taiwan. Without this international dialing Taiwan Code, you will not able to place a call outside the Taiwan because the telephone exachange will not reconginize it as a valid international call.
To dial a international number outside Taiwan from within Taiwan, you have to dial International Dialing Taiwan Code or Taiwan International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Taiwan Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+886 (International Dialing Taiwan Code) + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
When dialing from a mobile phone outside Taiwan from Taiwan, only Dial '+' + (Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" is universal mobile international direct dialing prefix also includes Taiwan)
On the other hand, when dialing to Taiwan from outside Taiwan, a Taiwan Country Code is used. Taiwan Country Code however is not used when dialing within Taiwan.
The other type of code is Taiwan National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Taiwan (Refer to dialing Taiwan code). Taiwan NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Taiwan. Do not use Taiwan National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Taiwan into Taiwan.
