United States of America Country Code

For data processing and communications and United States of America and it's dependent areas is represent by a United States of America Country code. United States of America country code is a short numeric geographical code (geocodes) developed by the ISO 3166-1 system. United States of America country code is freqently refered to as United States of America dialing codes or United States of America E.164 calling code.

United States of America Country Code is used when dialing to United States of America from outside United States of America. United States of America Country Code is however not used when dialing within United States of America.

To call United States of America from outside United States of America, you have to dial the your own country's International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), United States of America Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number as:

Your Countries International Direct Dialing Prefix (IDD) +1 (United States of America Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.

When dialing from a mobile phone outside United States of America into United States of America, Dial '+' +1 (United States of America Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" can be reached by holding down the "0" key until it turns into a "+". The "+" is universal prefix for all international mobile telephone calls including United States of America)

United States of America International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the United States of America to outside the country (Refer to international dialing United States of America code or United States of America international access code). Do not use United States of America IDD when dialing within United States of America.

United States of America National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD) is used when dialing to a destination within the United States of America (Refer to dialing United States of America code). Do not use United States of America National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside United States of America into United States of America. United States of America NDD is only used as long distance dialing within the country.
