Dialing Benin
The other type of code is Benin National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Benin. Benin NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Benin. Do not use Benin National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Benin into Benin.
For Benin long distance, you have to dial Benin National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+229 (Benin National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Benin Code or Benin International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Benin to outside Benin. Do not use Benin IDD code when dialing within Benin for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Benin from outside Benin, a Benin Country Code is used . Benin Country Code however is not used when dialing within Benin.
