Dialing Germany

The other type of code is Germany National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Germany. Germany NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Germany. Do not use Germany National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Germany into Germany.

For Germany long distance, you have to dial Germany National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:

+49 (Germany National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.

On the other hand, International Dialing Germany Code or Germany International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Germany to outside Germany. Do not use Germany IDD code when dialing within Germany for long distance.

On the other hand, when dialing to Germany from outside Germany, a Germany Country Code is used . Germany Country Code however is not used when dialing within Germany.
