Dialing Jamaica
The other type of code is Jamaica National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Jamaica. Jamaica NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Jamaica. Do not use Jamaica National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Jamaica into Jamaica.
For Jamaica long distance, you have to dial Jamaica National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+1-876 (Jamaica National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Jamaica Code or Jamaica International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Jamaica to outside Jamaica. Do not use Jamaica IDD code when dialing within Jamaica for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Jamaica from outside Jamaica, a Jamaica Country Code is used . Jamaica Country Code however is not used when dialing within Jamaica.
