Dialing Kiribati
The other type of code is Kiribati National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Kiribati. Kiribati NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Kiribati. Do not use Kiribati National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Kiribati into Kiribati.
For Kiribati long distance, you have to dial Kiribati National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+686 (Kiribati National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Kiribati Code or Kiribati International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Kiribati to outside Kiribati. Do not use Kiribati IDD code when dialing within Kiribati for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Kiribati from outside Kiribati, a Kiribati Country Code is used . Kiribati Country Code however is not used when dialing within Kiribati.
