Dialing Laos
The other type of code is Laos National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Laos. Laos NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Laos. Do not use Laos National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Laos into Laos.
For Laos long distance, you have to dial Laos National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+856 (Laos National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Laos Code or Laos International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Laos to outside Laos. Do not use Laos IDD code when dialing within Laos for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Laos from outside Laos, a Laos Country Code is used . Laos Country Code however is not used when dialing within Laos.
