Dialing Latvia
The other type of code is Latvia National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Latvia. Latvia NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Latvia. Do not use Latvia National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Latvia into Latvia.
For Latvia long distance, you have to dial Latvia National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+371 (Latvia National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Latvia Code or Latvia International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Latvia to outside Latvia. Do not use Latvia IDD code when dialing within Latvia for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Latvia from outside Latvia, a Latvia Country Code is used . Latvia Country Code however is not used when dialing within Latvia.
