Dialing Madagascar
The other type of code is Madagascar National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Madagascar. Madagascar NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Madagascar. Do not use Madagascar National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Madagascar into Madagascar.
For Madagascar long distance, you have to dial Madagascar National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+261 (Madagascar National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Madagascar Code or Madagascar International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Madagascar to outside Madagascar. Do not use Madagascar IDD code when dialing within Madagascar for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Madagascar from outside Madagascar, a Madagascar Country Code is used . Madagascar Country Code however is not used when dialing within Madagascar.
