Dialing Portugal
The other type of code is Portugal National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Portugal. Portugal NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Portugal. Do not use Portugal National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Portugal into Portugal.
For Portugal long distance, you have to dial Portugal National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+351 (Portugal National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Portugal Code or Portugal International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Portugal to outside Portugal. Do not use Portugal IDD code when dialing within Portugal for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Portugal from outside Portugal, a Portugal Country Code is used . Portugal Country Code however is not used when dialing within Portugal.
