Dialing Tanzania
The other type of code is Tanzania National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Tanzania. Tanzania NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Tanzania. Do not use Tanzania National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Tanzania into Tanzania.
For Tanzania long distance, you have to dial Tanzania National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+255 (Tanzania National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Tanzania Code or Tanzania International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Tanzania to outside Tanzania. Do not use Tanzania IDD code when dialing within Tanzania for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Tanzania from outside Tanzania, a Tanzania Country Code is used . Tanzania Country Code however is not used when dialing within Tanzania.
