Dialing Zambia
The other type of code is Zambia National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Zambia. Zambia NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Zambia. Do not use Zambia National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Zambia into Zambia.
For Zambia long distance, you have to dial Zambia National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+260 (Zambia National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Zambia Code or Zambia International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Zambia to outside Zambia. Do not use Zambia IDD code when dialing within Zambia for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Zambia from outside Zambia, a Zambia Country Code is used . Zambia Country Code however is not used when dialing within Zambia.
