Dialing Macao
The other type of code is Macao National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Macao. Macao NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Macao. Do not use Macao National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Macao into Macao.
For Macao long distance, you have to dial Macao National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+853 (Macao National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Macao Code or Macao International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Macao to outside Macao. Do not use Macao IDD code when dialing within Macao for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Macao from outside Macao, a Macao Country Code is used . Macao Country Code however is not used when dialing within Macao.
