Dialing Malawi
The other type of code is Malawi National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Malawi. Malawi NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Malawi. Do not use Malawi National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Malawi into Malawi.
For Malawi long distance, you have to dial Malawi National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+265 (Malawi National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Malawi Code or Malawi International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Malawi to outside Malawi. Do not use Malawi IDD code when dialing within Malawi for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Malawi from outside Malawi, a Malawi Country Code is used . Malawi Country Code however is not used when dialing within Malawi.
