Dialing Malta
The other type of code is Malta National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Malta. Malta NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Malta. Do not use Malta National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Malta into Malta.
For Malta long distance, you have to dial Malta National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+356 (Malta National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Malta Code or Malta International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Malta to outside Malta. Do not use Malta IDD code when dialing within Malta for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Malta from outside Malta, a Malta Country Code is used . Malta Country Code however is not used when dialing within Malta.
