Dialing Mauritania
The other type of code is Mauritania National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Mauritania. Mauritania NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Mauritania. Do not use Mauritania National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Mauritania into Mauritania.
For Mauritania long distance, you have to dial Mauritania National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+222 (Mauritania National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Mauritania Code or Mauritania International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Mauritania to outside Mauritania. Do not use Mauritania IDD code when dialing within Mauritania for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Mauritania from outside Mauritania, a Mauritania Country Code is used . Mauritania Country Code however is not used when dialing within Mauritania.
