Dialing Mauritius
The other type of code is Mauritius National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD). It is used only when dialing to a destination within the Mauritius. Mauritius NDD code is only used as long distance dialing within the Mauritius. Do not use Mauritius National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Mauritius into Mauritius.
For Mauritius long distance, you have to dial Mauritius National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD), City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number respectively as:
+230 (Mauritius National Direct Dialing prefix code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.
On the other hand, International Dialing Mauritius Code or Mauritius International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Mauritius to outside Mauritius. Do not use Mauritius IDD code when dialing within Mauritius for long distance.
On the other hand, when dialing to Mauritius from outside Mauritius, a Mauritius Country Code is used . Mauritius Country Code however is not used when dialing within Mauritius.
